"Sebenarnya.my" is helps our society counteract fake news about coronavirus or is referred to as a "2019 N-CoV" shared by people who are not responsible for sharing it without any legitimate source.
A total of 25 fake news were disclosed by "Sebenarnya.my" so that Malaysians were not exposed to the news as some irresponsible people shared this fake news for controversial purposes.
According to the Communications and Multimedia Minister ,Gobind Sing Deo, the portal is a one-stop-centre for people to verify the authenticity of information before sharing it on social media, instant messaging service, blog, website and other platforms.
“People can obtain information on coronavirus directly under ‘Coronavirus 2019N-Cov’ category on the portal.
“I would like to thank the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (MCMC) for updating "Sebenarnya.my" portal with genuine information regarding 2019-nCoV and repel fake news on Internet,” he said in a statement.
He also said the ministry via the Information Department (JaPen), Broadcasting Department (RTM) and Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) had undertaken proactive steps to ensure society was provided with the latest information on the disease and its preventive measures.
“This is important to ensure that the people have a better understanding of the disease and steps taken by the authorities to control and prevent the spread of the virus",he said.
People also can send the article without legitimate source that they found on social media to the "Sebenarnya.my" and they will check it whether is true or fake news.
