KUALA LUMPUR - A few days ago viral a video on Twitter in which Siti Kassim claimed that jawi writing was an old and outdated text during the Dong Jiao Zong Congress held on 28 December 2019 at Kajang, Selangor.
According to the Siti Kassim on her viral video, she said that the jawi writing is an ancient language and garbage and also she said we are no longer use jawi in writing and reading because everything in the Malay language.
His opinion in congress has sparked outrage among many Twitter users and one user said that "Chinese calligraphy can foster a sense of unity but jawi is an ancient text, has an Islamic and racist agenda." "What a double standard and hypocrite Malaysians are!".
Some of the Twitter user said when it was introduced to speak Mandarin only nobody cared and knew but when jawi wanted to be introduced in all primary schools many people objected to this.
Introducing jawi in every elementary school is not an Islamic agenda in which some say that if one learns Javanese he will become a Muslim and this argument is spoken by one Twitter user.
The issue of introducing jawi in primary schools is still debated on social media and in society as it is a misunderstanding element and it is very difficult for racial issues to be resolved if we are all divided and only accept our own ideas.
Non-governmental organizations also need to pay attention to this as it can lead to serious civil war and it also causes every ethnic group to instill Assabiyah in them.
