The Strokes confirmed 2020 is the year for them to release the new album since they did their EP, "Future Present Past" in 2016 and their recent album was "Comedown Machine" in 2013.
The frontman, Julian Casablancas has confirmed that they will release the sixth album in 2020 during their show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on New Year's Eve.
"Yeah, we’ve got a new album coming out soon! 2020, here we come,the 2010s, whatever the fuck they’re called, we took ‘em off. And now we’ve been unfrozen and we’re back. If you really love someone, you’ll be frozen with them.

The band also played their new song during the concert, "Ode To Mets"along with the two popular songs that are "Last Nite" and "Hard To Explain".
