Pastel Lite
If you love the pop music, you must know and listen their songs. Pastel Lite is an indie pop duo based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Eff Hakim and Mohd Faliq are part of this band. They perform pop electronic music and keep it from time to time experimental.
Creating music like Tame Impala and Lana Del Rey. They have been in the indie music since 2012 and during the first album which "Balada", they signed under indie label Yuna Room Records in 2017.
Their main focus is to be distinct and fun for the audience when it comes to music and shows. This year, they recently released the album which is "Pop Bilik Tidur". The songs from the album inspired by 80s Malay electronic pop songs and they also released music video for one of the song from the "Pop Bilik Tidur" which is "Hello Sayang".
Midnight Fusic
The indie band that has captured the hearts of girls in Malaysia, has created a phenomenon in indie music. They have produced songs by introducing alternative rock styles that made teenage girls intrigued when they listen their songs. This indie band inspired by Bad Suns, Mac Demarco, The 1975, The Kooks, and Two Door Cinema Club. The most successful achievement is they performed at the Good Vibes Festival 2019 which held at Genting Highlands.
They released two extended playlists (EP) which is "When Love Was Around" and "Caramel Cream". Caramel Cream is the most famous song in their extended playlists, the song will be cheered with joy as they perform at each of their concerts.
CORA
If you are the Coldplay fans, you must listen to Cora, the way to pronounce the name band is "Chora". This indie band has brought spiritual, love and divine music, their songs will make the listeners feel at peace and quiet as they are classified as experimental bands. "Bahagia Itu Sederhana" is their debut album that has attracted indie music listeners to listen to their peaceful songs.
Based on their Facebook page, they said "They sing about everything from Love, God, Family and Planet Earth. They try to produce an art that has been given by God in every creature to detect the wave form from what they create".
LOKO
LOKO is a alternative rock band based in Shah Alam, they have been in music industry since 2013. The band members are Ashrafiqal (frontman), Alep (guitarist), Aqil (drummer), Aiman (Bass). They inspired by Arctic Monkeys, Nirvana, and Hujan.
Their debut album, "Mata Kaca" was the successful debut album because most of the indie music listeners are enjoying all of the songs in the album. "Pujaan Hati" and "Untuk Dia" are the well-known songs because you easily to sing it and it also will make you dance when you are listening to it.
LUST
LUST is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's groundbreaking pop group. The group was founded in 2015 and consisted of Orang, Krooktroupe and Speakzodiac members. Their music is an eclectic genre collage, drawing from industrial, pop, and new wave music influences.
Tekesima, one of the best releases in this year, is their 2019 release. A twelve-path history exploring the wide-eyed adult transition, revealing the weight of modernity and excess.
