Oasis was a 1991 British rock band which was formed in Manchester. The band originally consisted of Liam Gallagher (lead vocals, tambourine), Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs (guitar), Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan (bass guitar), and Tony McCarroll (drums), formed from an earlier group, the Rain. Returning to Manchester, Liam's older brother, Noel Gallagher (lead guitar, vocals) joined the band as a fifth member, forming the nucleus of the band and settling line-up. They had numerous line-up changes over the course of their lifetime, though the Gallagher brothers remained as the core members until dissolution of the party.

The album in the UK Albums Chart went straight to number one and became the fastest-selling debut album in the UK at the time; it managed to be BPI certified 7 Platinum (2.1 million+ sales).

Definitely Maybe marked the start of the popularity of Oasis in the U.S., selling over one million copies there despite only peaking at 58 on the Billboard 200. The album is considered a landmark entry of the Britpop scene, and has been included in the lists of the greatest albums of all time in many publications.

"Don't Go Away" is the song written by Noel Gallagher, The song was released only in Japan as a commercial single, peaking at number 48 on the Oricon chart, and as a promotional single in the USA, Canada, Japan and Europe. It has been a hit in the United States and Canada, reaching number 35 in the US Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart and number 15 in the Canadian RPM Top Singles chart in late 1997.
